SELECT (TRAVEL) BASKETBALL

Reston Select (Travel) Basketball teams have participated in the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League (FCYBL) for more than 30 years. Numerous Reston Travel Basketball players have gone to play for area high school varsity teams, college teams, and professionally, including the NBA.  Learn more.

SUMMER HOUSE

House Basketball is for those new to the sport or for those looking to refine their basic skills in a friendly competitive environment with a strong emphasis on equal playing time, friend/team requests, school affiliation and community involvement. This league is open to 1st to 12th graders offering both boys and girls teams. This program is the Longest Running Summer League in Northern Virginia!

Reston Hoops will provide team uniforms once the teams are formed. Players provide their own socks and gym shoes (and shorts for summer league).  Bring a water bottle.

Sign up to be a paid referee in our Referee Registration portal. Prospective officials must be at least 14 years old and have prior basketball experience at the start of any given season to be eligible to referee.

Reston Hoops is largely run by unpaid volunteers, except for referees, our admin and game day manager. Volunteers are ALWAYS needed. These much-needed and much-appreciated roles are extremely important to run the league successfully. Coaches, please register directly for the program of interest. If you would like to volunteer in a capacity other than coaching, please contact to our administrator at – [email protected]. Thank you!

Practices and games are occasionally cancelled by Fairfax County due to weather or special activities. When Fairfax County announces school closures, our events are cancelled during the times announced. County-wide cancellations are posted on the Fairfax County government website and social media accounts, television stations, or you may call the County sports Weather Hotline at 703-324-5264. We will do our best to inform you as quickly as possible if it affects your practice or game, but please give us grace as there are unforeseen situations where the information is provided without much notice.

Athletes who play in our league mostly reside in Fairfax County, however all are welcome. Players who reside outside of Fairfax County are required to pay an additional Out-of-County Fee assessed by the county ($75 as of 7/2024). This is automatically added to your registration.
