Our program is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of young athletes through a supportive and engaging environment. We offer both House and Select league in the Fall & Spring for athletes with various skill levels as well as preseason, post season and off season pop-up clinics and open gyms throughout the year when gym space is available.

We welcome and always NEED enthusiastic volunteers to coach and to help run the league. Head Coaches get one free athlete registration and also have the opportunity to choose practice day and time (that are available). Student coaches will get community service hours. Referees must be 15 years or older and are hired based on volleyball experience. Please submit any inquiries related to playing, coaching or refereeing, or have general questions, please email us at: [email protected].

Join us on the court and be a part of our vibrant volleyball community!

*Tryouts are required to play in the Select division. The league format will depend on # of competitive athletes, teams opting to join, available qualified volunteer coaches, and gym availability.

Mission: To cultivate character, camaraderie, and athletic growth in a positive coaching environment focusing on skill development, on teamwork and the joy of participating in sports.

Vision: We envision a league where athletes learn to honor the game, honor each other, are empowered and encouraged to take risks and apply lessons learned from volleyball into their everyday lives. We prioritize positivity, cultivate integrity, demonstrate and expect sportsmanship and ethical behavior with all involved – from coaches, athletes to fans through a culture of teamwork & trust in the process. In doing this, we aim to help build self-esteem and a lifelong love for sports.

Reston Volleyball will provide team jerseys once the teams are formed. Players provide their own shorts, socks, kneepads (optional) and gym shoes.

Sign up to be a paid referee in our Referee Registration portal. Prospective officials must be at least 15 years old and have prior volleyball experience at the start of any given season to be eligible to referee.

About 2 hours of preseason (pre-match) training will be required.

Reston Hoops is mostly run by unpaid volunteers, except for referees, our admin and game day manager. Volunteers are always needed. These positions are much-needed and much-appreciated roles that are extremely important to run this league successfully. If you would like to volunteer in another capacity other than coaching, please contact to our volleyball commissioner – [email protected].

Practices and games sometimes are cancelled by Fairfax County due to weather or special activities. Countywide cancellations are posted on Fairfax County television stations, or you may call the County sports Weather Hotline at 703-324-5264. We will do our best to inform you as far in advance as possible if it affects your practice or game, but please give us the grace that there are some unforeseen situations where the information is not provided to us to relay them to you.

Athletes who play in our league mostly reside in Fairfax County, however all are welcome. Players who reside outside of Fairfax County are required to pay an additional Out-of-County Fee assessed by the county ($75 as of 7/2024).
